AMA Iowa Chapter Keepin’ It Real At The 2009 NOVA Awards
The AMA Iowa Chapter honored some of Iowa’s leading marketing professionals at the 2009 NOVA Awards, held May 7, 2009, at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Jordan Creek. The 2009 NOVA Awards showcases marketing efforts during the 12 months prior to December 31, 2008.
Award Winners
Submissions were judged on five criteria — objectives, campaign budget, strategy, tactics, and results. A panel of marketing professionals from the Omaha chapter of the American Marketing Association served as judges and chose this year’s winners.
Marsh Consumer received the “Best of Show” award for their campaign “EPLI Professional Mailing”. This campaign also picked up the “Best of Category” award in the Direct Marketing Campaign category. In the same category, second place was awarded to SHAZAM for their “What Do You See?” HR campaign. Third place was awarded to Marsh Consumer for their “AFSA Cancer Package. Other “Best of Category” honors went to the following companies:
- SHAZAM for their "When You Least Expect It" campaign in the B2B Campaign category. Second place was awarded to SHAZAM for their “Got A Merchant Monkey On Your Back?” campaign. Third place was awarded to Marsh Consumer for their “FedEx Ground Health Insurance Mart Mailing” campaign.
- Strategic America for their "Kum & Go Personalized URLS (PURLS)" campaign in the Consumer Campaign category. Second place was awarded to Marsh Consumer for their “NEA AD&D Emotional Cross-Sell” campaign. Third place was awarded to Marsh Consumer for their “NEA Group Loyalty Package - Lapse Offer” campaign.
- Lessing-Flynn for their "60th Anniversary Celebration of Vermeer Corporation" campaign in the Special Event / Conference category. Second place was awarded to On Point Strategies for their “Des Moines Playhouse Hollywood Halloween 2008” campaign.
- Trilix and Great Ape Trust of Iowa for their "YouTube" campaign in the Interactive - Social Media category. Second place was awarded to Flying Hippo Web Technologies for their “ISU Holiday E-card” campaign.
- Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa for their “Free LARC Fall 2008” campaign in the Non-Profit Campaign category. Second place was awarded to Cooper Smith & Company for their “Ballet Des Moines, Nutcracker 2008” campaign. Third place was awarded to Strategic America for their “Winefest Weekend 2008” campaign.
- Lessing-Flynn for their “Crow’s Tradeshow materials" in the Tradeshow Marketing category. Second place was awarded to Performance Marketing for their “ARA/The Rental Show” campaign.
- Marsh Consumer for their “Marsh-Blue Shield of California New Grad Medical Mailing" campaign in the Integrated Campaign category. Second place was awarded to Performance Marketing for their “Toro Grandstand Product Launch” campaign. Third place was awarded to Emerson - Fisher for their “Severe Service Sales & Marketing” campaign.
- Trilix and Central Iowa Tourism Region for their "Central Iowa Tourism Region" Web site in the Interactive - Web Site category. Second place was awarded to Flying Hippo Web Technologies for their “ISU Holiday E-Card”. Third place was also awarded to Flying Hippo Web Technologies for their “Channel Bio” Web site.
- Hanser & Associates for their “2008 Des Moines Home & Garden Show” campaign in the Public Relations category. They also received a second place award for their “Megabus.com East Coast Launch” campaign. Third place was awarded to ARAG for their “Measuring the Effects of Employee Financial & Legal Woes” white paper.
- Tennille Pint, Drake University, for her "Holiday Idol" campaign in the Student Category. Second place was awarded to Angela T. Johnston, Grandview College for her "Honeybees” press kit. Angela also received a third place award for her “Granit City National Tapping Party" campaign.
The 2009 recipient of the AMA Iowa Student Scholarship is Nicole Ann Finke of Drake University.
